Free, serious IQ testing — built in the Netherlands
THEIQTESTS.COM is a cognitive-testing site where the IQ test is free to take. Your exact score, percentile and full report are one payment, no subscription. Since launch in April 2026, people in 154 countries have used it in 20 languages.
Take the free IQ test →An independent company, not a lab
THEIQTESTS.COM is built and run by an independent Dutch company. The company is self-funded: there are no investors, no advertisers steering the content and no data brokers.
There is no team of forty psychometricians here, and we would rather say so than pretend. What there is: a small team that has spent years on how online cognitive tests are built, scored and misused, and a test engine that has now scored more than 7,200 IQ results across 154 countries.
Company details are on the imprint page.

Question types
The main test has 25 items from four families used across the field for a century: matrix reasoning, numerical series, verbal analogies and spatial rotation. Items run from easy to hard and the test is timed, because speed under mild pressure is part of what fluid-intelligence tests capture.
Scoring
Harder items count more than easy ones. Your weighted score is mapped onto the familiar IQ scale — mean 100, standard deviation 15, the convention used by instruments such as the WAIS and Stanford-Binet — by a fixed conversion curve, so an average performance lands near 100 and a score of 130 sits roughly in the top 2%. It is a screening estimate, not a clinical norm.
What it is not
A 20-minute online test is a screener. It gives a reliable sense of where you fall and is good practice for a supervised sitting. It is not a clinical assessment, it cannot diagnose anything, and no online test is accepted by Mensa or by employers in place of a proctored one. If you need a formal IQ score, see a licensed psychologist.
Where the design comes from
Our IQ tests draw on the Raven's Progressive Matrices tradition for non-verbal reasoning, the Cattell–Horn–Carroll (CHC) model for the category breakdown and Wechsler's deviation-IQ convention for scoring. The personality tests follow the Big Five model and the published frameworks they are named after. These are public, well-documented frameworks; we are not affiliated with the organisations behind them. More on our research page.
Real figures, with dates
Counts from our own database, 15 April – 10 October 2026. We update them as they grow, and we don't round up.
What we do — and don't do
- The IQ test is free. No card, no trial, no account. Your exact score, percentile, full report and certificate are one payment; there is no subscription on this site.
- 14-day refund. Any payment is refunded in full within 14 days on request. See our refund policy.
- We don't sell your data. No data brokers, no ad networks fed with your results. Answers are stored under an anonymous session ID; your name and email only if you give them. See our privacy policy.
- We say when we don't know. Every result page states the limits of an online screener. We would rather you trust the site than the number.
- A human answers. Write to [email protected], in English or Dutch.
